Error: Filename not valid when saving to hard disk due to name exceeding limits.
Error:
Filename is not valid.
Cause:
This problem occurs because the name and the path of the file exceed 219 characters. Note that the drive name, folder names, the backslash characters between folders, and the filename itself are all included in the count. This limitation is by design of Microsoft Excel.
Solution:
Rename the file, the folders, or the subfolders so that the path and the filename do not exceed the limit.
1) If the message is still displayed, click 'OK' to dismiss the message.
2) Do one or both of the following:
a) Rename the file to a shorter name in Excel:
1] Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save As...'. (The Save As dialog box appears.)
2] Specify where the file should be saved in the 'Save in' drop-down list box.
3] In the 'File name' drop-down list box, type a filename that has fewer characters than the original name.
4] (Optional) Select a file type from the 'Save as type' drop-down list.
5] Click 'Save'.
b) Rename the folders or subfolders that contain the file to a shorter name in Windows 95.
1] Open the 'My Computer' icon from the Windows 95 desktop.

2] Locate the folder or subfolder to be renamed.
NOTE: Double-click on a folder to open its subfolders.
3] Select (click on) the folder to be renamed.
4] Select the 'File' menu and select 'Rename'.
5] Type the new name.
6] Press ENTER.
NOTE: Make sure the new name has fewer characters than the previous one.
